Sumo: Terunofuji wins Mt. Asano and continues spectacular revival

Terno Fuji took a big step toward his first victory in over five years with his Friday victory over Koseki Asanoyama, who had an overwhelming lead in the July sumo tournament on Friday.

In the final match on the 13th, Terunofuji, who returned to the top as 17th Maebashi, avoided a fall because night co-leader Asanoyama (11-2) gained momentum at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.

Rank and Filer was able to get his foot back and take advantage of the new Ozeki, throwing him out of the raised ring and winning his first career meeting at the 15-day event.

At the sumo tournament in July, No.17 frontal Terunofuji (front) passed the Ozeki Asanoyama and took the lead. (Joint)
